The VEKA UK Group’s Burnley HQ has played host to a number of international guests for the global VEKA Group’s second annual Energy Management Meeting.

VEKA colleagues from sites around the world gathered to attend this meeting, in order to set targets for improved energy consumption and to share best practice suggestions with each other. Attendees included representatives from Germany, Russia, Poland, France, Spain, USA and GEALAN (which was acquired by the Worldwide VEKA Group in 2014).

Discussing innovative ideas and gaining insights from companies that have the same goals can be incredibly valuable when you consider that The VEKA UK Group foots energy bills of £1.4m!

Trojan Group’s Hardware Is Ahead Of The Game
 

Document Q, the latest addition to building regulations that covers security, came into force on 1 October 2015 and left many hardware products non-compliant. But Trojan’s core product range already met the requirements, meaning that for Trojan fabricators and installers it was business as usual.

FIT Events Ltd, organisers of The Fabricator Installer Trade (FIT) Show, has announced the dates and venue of events to take place after 2016.

From 2017 The FIT Show moves to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Birmingham, the UK’s premier exhibition venue, taking place in Halls 6 and 7. May 23rd, 24th and 25th have been chosen for 2017, with the following FIT Show to take place two years later at the same venue on 21st, 22nd and 23rd May 2019.

Clive Pushes The Limits For Cancer Charity
 

A keen runner and professional glass artist has created a giant sculpture to raise money for charity while also encouraging people to push themselves to the limit.

Clive Sparkes, who runs Go Glass, in Cambridge, has created a two-metre high sculpture of a runner which he is auctioning for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.

The sculpture depicts the runner crossing a finishing line with the slogan “Pushing the Limits”.
