GGF Reaction To UKCA Extension

 

The GGF has reacted to the news of the Government extension of the transition period for the end of recognition of the CE mark in Great Britain has been extended until 1st January 2023.

MHCLG (Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government) on Tuesday 24th August updated its Guidance providing practical information for placing construction products on the GB market.

The Government announcement stated; “Businesses must prepare for the end of recognition of the CE mark in GB and affix the UK marking using a UK-recognised ‘approved body’. Our intention is to end recognition of the CE mark by 1 January 2023. Current rules will remain in place until legislation is laid to end recognition of the CE mark.

FENSA Appoints New Board Member

 

FENSA has announced the appointment of Phil Slinger, Chief Executive of Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) to the FENSA Board.

On Phil Slinger’s appointment to the FENSA Board, GGF President and FENSA Chairman, Tony Smith commented, “It’s great to have Phil and CAB on the FENSA Board. It’s a dynamic and diverse Board with one broad aim, to make things better for our industry.”

The FENSA Board now has representation from all the trade bodies representing the framing materials in the industry. CAB joins the British Woodworking Federation, Steel Window Association and British Plastics Federation on the Board of the government-authorised scheme that monitors building regulation compliance for replacement windows and doors.

Tradeglaze Tigers’ Roarsome Effort To Help Raise Funds For The NHS

 

As part of its commitment to providing help throughout the wider community, Lincoln-based double glazing fabricator Tradeglaze (Lincoln) Ltd has proudly taken part as the Gold Sponsor of this year’s Camperfest ’21 fundraiser for the NHS. The ‘Tradeglaze Tigers’ team consisted of six Tradeglaze team members who competed in the event’s ‘We’re a Knockout’ inflatable challenges. Disciplines included running over inflatable slides, group jumping in sacks, diving through foam and building an inflatable cannon, to name just a few of the tricky tasks the teams had to complete.
